Minimum Qualifications
Current DMV employees with one year of permanent service in a G-23 title or higher eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law, currently in a Motor Vehicle Program Manager 1, M-1 position eligible for reassignment, or reachable on the Motor Vehicle Program Manager 1 eligible list.
Duties Description
The incumbent of this position will work in DMV'S Compliance office in the Swan St Building in Albany. Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for managing Insurance Services Bureau (ISB) and International Registration Bureau (IRB). Under the general direction of a Motor Vehicle Program Manager 2 the duties of this position will include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for management and supervision of staff and resources within those units
• Work with supervisors to set performance goals and training standards for unit staff
• Develop and review operating procedures for carrying out policies, goals, and objectives
• Monitor phone queue wait times and volumes to ensure customer service targets are met
• Evaluate operations using performance measures to ensure operational requirements and milestones are met
• Prepare reports for executive management, working committees, and other governmental entities to provide information about programs or projects
• Oversee the development and/or analysis of legislative proposals
• Review, interpret, and implement regulations pertinent to assigned program areas
• Establish and maintain relationships with other departments, state and federal agencies, vendors, and industry groups
• Develop request documents (RFP, Grant applications, etc.) which clearly define all job specifications, including all potential variables
• Multi-task and prioritize duties to effectively complete work with conflicting deadlines and changing priorities
• Promote and foster an environment which encourages staff collaboration and communication
