Accountant Jobs description
Accountant jobs are among the best paid jobs for fresh graduates nationwide. Accounting majors are among the top three best paying college majors according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Any major city with good colleges nearby has emerged as an ideal location for accounting jobs.Most accountants have a bachelor’s degree in accounting; although some employers prefer people with a master’s degree. Some also go on to become CPAs which requires additional training. These accountants work either as public accountants, management accountants, government accountants and auditors, and internal auditors. In corporations, most senior executives have a background in accounting. Most accountant jobs are those where the people work 40 hour weeks, although self-employed people have to work longer hours, as do people hire up the ladder. Tax specialists also have to put in more hours during tax season.
There were 1.3 million accountants and auditors in 2008. They earned an average salary of around $59,000 per year. The profession is expected to grow by 22 percent between 2008- 2018. Considering these facts accountant jobs are an ideal career choice.
