The Assessor's Office places a strong emphasis on excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. This position provides clerical and administrative support to the Appraisal Division of the Charleston County Assessor's office. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing, must establish and maintain cooperative working relationship internally and externally.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $15.32 - $17.26

Duties and Responsibilities
The position requires research, analysis, and organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize varying job duties. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and also work in a team environment, cooperating with others in the division and with other divisions and work units in the Assessor's office. Job duties include: data entry, vectoring property sketches, running SQL and other reports, preparing letters (including merge letters), filing, preparing excel spreadsheets, power point presentations and other clerical duties. Additional duties may include assisting with taxpayer inquiries, answering customer calls, and conveying information accurately, completely, and clearly over the phone with a high degree of professionalism. Others duties that may be assigned include assisting other divisions in the Assessor's office as needed, performing research as needed, and cross training in various administrative and clerical duties. Some overtime may be required which may include some work on weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate's Degree preferred.
Minimum Qualification: A minimum one years' clerical or administrative experience in an office environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate must deal professionally and effectively with internal and external county staff, and with employees of other government agencies at the County, Municipal and State level over the phone, in person and through electronic transmissions. The successful candidate must have experience in office procedures to include: considerable experience with a variety of computer software applications (EXCEL and WORD required). Experience with Power Point, ACCESS and SQL preferred but not required. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new software applications, and must be capable of entering data and typing communications accurately and rapidly.Closing Date/Time: 3/6/2022 11:59 PM Eastern
