Duties
Supports and assists with a full range of administrative tasks resolving recurring problems. Receives and distributes supplies, mail, etc., in a timely manner.
Maintains files in accordance with Federal regulations and agency directives and ensures appropriate documentation is attached.
May use database or spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort, calculate, and retrieve data for reports.
Receives visitors and handles calls of a routine nature applicable to the unit.
Responds to non-technical requests for information regarding office functions, status of reports, and other information as needed. Difficult, technical, or special questions are referred to the appropriate area.
Receives and distributes supplies, mail, etc., in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification Requirements for the GS-05:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4 grade level;
OR
a bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school;
OR
combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
Examples of specialized experience that meet this requirement include meeting two or more of the following: receiving visitors; processing incoming and outgoing correspondence; and maintaining files and records.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). : To exercise selection priority for this vacancy, CTAP/RPL candidates must meet the basic eligibility requirements and all selective factors.
