Denver International Airport is seeking a Marketing Specialist to join our team. In this role you will report to the Director of Marketing to help develop a world-class marketing plan for Denver International Airport, working collaboratively to manage marketing events, programs and campaigns that promote, enhance, and protect the organization's brand within the overall direction established by senior management.
We are looking for a creative marketing professional with a client services background. In this position you will be working with a number of different clients, from our internal departments to our external stakeholders. In this job you will be a part of a small team to accomplish large initiatives and you will need to roll up your sleeves and work hands-on to bring a campaign or project from concept to fruition. This job requires strong project management skills such as quality, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
As a Marketing Specialist, you can expect to:
Assist and develop strategic plans for assigned work areas that includes marketing campaigns, media and communications tactics and ensures implementation of all campaign elements
Provides client service by offering expert strategic guidance and world-class client service support to our internal clients and external stakeholders. Handle projects through kickoff/intake, creative briefs, creative review and evaluation, client approvals and execution
Implement major marketing and promotional programs/campaigns/events including advertising strategies, media plans, timelines, collaboration with business/community partners, and researches and negotiates rates with media outlets and/or vendors
Ensure financial resources are utilized appropriately, purchasing processes are followed according to city protocol and recommends budget shifts based on business needs within budget constraints if needed
Assist with special events to promote the DEN brand such as conferences, community events and other promotional events
Act as a brand steward, quickly gaining a working understanding of the DEN brand and provide professional and courteous guidance to internal and external stakeholders on the proper use of the DEN brand
Establish performance metrics for programs and optimizes tactics to meet performance goals
Assist with amenities research and selection for special events or delegation trips
Perform other related duties as assigned
About You
We are looking for a dedicated professional with strong attention to detail and a positive attitude who can work quickly and manage multiple projects and priorities while not compromising quality. The candidate must have a strong understanding of event planning, marketing, communications, and branding.
We are looking for a candidate with some or all the following skills and experience:
Minimum of 2 years of client services experience
Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills including web-based project management tools
Experience with vendor management, particularly print and production of collateral and graphics
Persistent and creative problem solver who can navigate competing and changing priorities
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, ability to know when to involve others at what time
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Creativity and knowledge of new and emerging technologies
Must be team focused and willing to roll up your sleeves and help as needed with and within job description

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related field
Experience: Three years of full performance, professional level experience performing marketing and/or public relations functions including research and analysis, developing public announcements and publications, and developing marketing and/or public relations strategies
License and Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
Education and Experience Equivalence: One year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
