Annually, DHCD finances approximately 2,700 units of multifamily rental housing in 40 properties, amounting to $350 million in construction and permanent financing. Funding comes from a variety of sources, including state-appropriated funds, taxable and tax-exempt revenue bonds, federal low income housing tax credits, federal HOME funds and other federal funds. Additionally, DHCD administers rental assistance programs and innovative initiatives designed to expand affordable housing opportunities for persons with disabilities, increase the energy efficiency and sustainability of affordable multifamily developments, and preserve rental housing.
The Community Engagement Center Manager is responsible for overseeing a range of community relations, marketing, and communications activities as well as ongoing program development, administration, management, and budgeting for the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Community Engagement Center (CEC) in Cambridge, Maryland. The CEC Manager will be the key onsite member of the Maryland DHCD CEC team. The CEC team is currently working on start-up planning with anticipated transition of the CEC to a fully-operational phase in May 2022. The CEC Manager will work with the Maryland DHCD Community Development Administration (CDA) team that presently operates housing voucher programs and related activities in Cambridge. The CEC and CDA teams will share leased space at The Packing House, a historic renovation project that will begin a phased-in opening in January 2022. A community ribbon-cutting event is tentatively scheduled for May 2022.
