A Job is thus classified into two basic categories. For the common man it stands out as Public Sector Jobs and Private Sector Jobs. The first thing we understand when we hear about Public Sector is that it is owned by the Government. The Government can be that of the country or a state or province. It makes all the necessary decisions related to the requirements of the system and also as of the employees’ salary and their basic needs. The Job opportunities are provided by the Government to eradicate unemployment by providing more career opportunities. In short public sector companies are owned and run by the government. E.g. the army, the navy and the air-force, bank jobs, federal jobs, etc. are all part of the Public Sector. And there are a lot more fields that comprise the Public Sector.
Criterion
The government jobs provide criteria for different posts. There may be entry level exams and various other procedures for finding an appropriate individual. E.g. For a police job the person needs to be well-built and he must be aware of the current scenario. Also someone applying for an engineer’s job may not require a very good physique but here intelligence and qualifications are a matter of importance. But there are special units that are run by the government that requires qualified engineers and software professionals that can handle the job. For a bank job the criteria would be a person with an educational background in maths or accounts. Also there would be certain requirements like experience from other organizations.
In some cases for a city job, an individual belonging to the same city may be given more importance than an individual arriving from a different city. The government also has some rules regarding the age limit for the individuals that are going to apply for the jobs. They may be different for males and females.

After having considered all the various options available for him, where does an individual get all this information regarding vacancies in various organizations? The newspaper is a means of providing information. But the easiest way to search jobs these days is through the internet. Just a click of a button and you are provided with a number of job sites. And the story doesn’t end there. The search engine provides you the information depending on the specified category. If you have been looking for an engineering job then information regarding the same would be provided.
Some people prefer Private sector jobs more than government jobs because of a good pay package and faster carrier growth. But government jobs give an assurance and a guarantee that makes individual at an ease. There are a number of facilities that are provided by the government and it is because of this that many people are attracted to the government jobs.
Conclusion
The growth opportunities in government jobs may be less or more or less the same, but the job security coupled with other benefits offered even to the entry level government employees is much more than that of the private sector jobs. That’s why government jobs are a lucrative opportunity even for the youth.
