The report also says that 80% of the government jobs will be in the sectors of security, protection, compliance, and enforcement (62,863 new hires); medical and public health (35,350 new hires); accounting, budget, and business (21,248 new hires); engineering and sciences (17,477 new hires); and program management/analysis and administration (14,305 new hires). The Bureau of Labor Statistics also reports that over the next eight years, government jobs are projected to increase by 4.8%, from 10.8 million to 11.3 million.
