As the Need for Government Employees Rises, GovernmentCrossing Launches with 20,000 Active Government Jobs

Pasadena, CA — With projections that government jobs will be the safest career bets during this time of recession, GovernmentCrossing (www.governmentcrossing.com), an online government job board with 20,000 current government job openings, launched today.

“With the unemployment rate up, I feel like it’s our job to aggressively research and post as many jobs as possible. GovernmentCrossing will bring a tremendous amount of secure government jobs to job seekers,” says CEO Harrison Barnes. “Our team is constantly researching and adding new government jobs to the site. We don’t sit around and wait for them to come to us; we seek them out and post them as soon as they become available. We also post job ads from employers for free, increasing our job selection even more.”

GovernmentCrossing’s wide selection of jobs is also on the rise as reports conclude that government hiring is increasing. According to the Partnership for Public Service, the US government is projected to hire approximately 193,000 new employees to fill “mission critical” government jobs in almost every job field over the next two years. The report also says that 80% of the government jobs will be in the sectors of security, protection, compliance, and enforcement (62,863 new hires); medical and public health (35,350 new hires); accounting, budget, and business (21,248 new hires); engineering and sciences (17,477 new hires); and program management/analysis and administration (14,305 new hires). The Bureau of Labor Statistics also reports that over the next eight years, government jobs are projected to increase by 4.8%, from 10.8 million to 11.3 million.

EmploymentCrossing was helpful in getting me a job. Interview calls started flowing in from day one and I got my dream offer soon after.
